About 120 Wreck

120 Wreck is named after the 120-degree compass heading that was used to get it from Manasquan Inlet and not the depth as many people believe. It is a schooner barge that was sunk in the late 1800's or early 1900's and its original name is forgotten. The 120 Wreck is made up of neighboring low wooden debris roughly 200 feet long. A big towing bit close to the bow shows that this was indeed a schooner barge. The other area of the site has a scallop dredge stuck into the stern of the ship. Marine life is plentiful at this wreck, living in the holes made by the decking and ribs. One can see big crabs, blackfish, sea bass, ling and lobsters.
